Man Dies in Hit-and-Run After Argument in Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (KTLA) — An investigation is underway after a deadly hit-and-run in Hacienda Heights on Sunday night.

hit-run-guyIt happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Wickshire Avenue.

The victim, identified as 23-year-old Victor Serrato, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Residents say Serrato lived in the area and was walking home from his grandfather’s house when a beige SUV and a BMW pulled up alongside him.

Investigators say a verbal confrontation turned physical when several men got out of the vehicles and attacked Serrato.

During the fight, one of the suspects allegedly got back into the SUV and ran over Serrato.

The suspects then got back into their cars and fled.

A short time later, police received a call about three assault victims who had driven themselves to Whittier Community Hospital.

All three reportedly suffered multiple stab wounds to the upper torso.

None of the injuries was life-threatening.

The beige SUV was located at the hospital.
