Police are investigating a shooting outside of the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the 800 block of West Olympic Boulevard around 4:50 a.m. where they found a victim unconscious and not breathing, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.

Police would not confirm the victim had died, however, detectives set up a canopy which is typical for a homicide investigation.

A coroner’s van was also spotted at the scene.

The shooting victim was believed to be a man in his 20s but he has not been identified.

Police say three suspects, all white or Hispanic males, fled the shooting in a white Rolls-Royce SUV.

One suspect was around 6 feet 2 inches tall and was armed with a handgun, LAPD said. The second suspect was wearing a white shirt and blue pants. The third suspect was wearing a white shirt and white pants, according to police.

“As you can imagine, our detectives have their work cut out for today,” LAPD Officer Lomeli said.

Investigators expected to find surveillance video in the area that would help with the investigation.

No further details about the shooting or a possible motive were released.
