1 Critically Injured After Officer-Involved Shooting in Downtown L.A.

One person was in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, according to police.

Police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 600 block of S. Grand Avenue (map) around 4:30 p.m., a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.

Upon arrival LAPD chased an individual believed to be connected to the call to an underground parking garage.

Shots were fired after the person did not comply with their directives, a spokesperson said.

The individual was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition, according to the spokesperson.

No officers were injured.

No other details were immediately available.

At least three patrol cars were seen responding to the incident, near the One Wilshire Data Center building, aerial footage showed.
