A relatively small but long period south swell will bring an increase high rip current risk to south-facing beaches of Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Wednesday. If you get caught in a rip current, try to conserve your energy and do not swim against the current, but parallel to shore to get out. Try to get the attention of a lifeguard or experienced swimmer by waving and yelling for help. A High Surf Advisory is in effect for Orange and San Diego County Beaches until Wednesday at 2pm. Once the advisory expires, hazardous conditions will remain until Thursday evening.
