Crossing Guard Struck by Car in El Monte, Driver Sought

EL MONTE, Calif. (KTLA) — Police are searching for a driver they say struck a crossing guard Tuesday morning then drove away.

The female crossing guard was struck just after 7 a.m. at the corner of Fineview Street and Durfee Avenue.

Witnesses say she flew seventy to eighty feet after the car ran into her.

No children were hit, but the crossing guard was taken to USC Medical Center with moderate injuries.

She is reported to be in stable condition.
