Dick Van Dyke ‘Fine’ After Rescue From Burning Car

CALABASAS, Calif. (KTLA) — Actor Dick Van Dyke was unhurt after his Jaguar caught fire Monday on the 101 Freeway in Calabasas, according to his wife.

Arlene Van Dyke tweeted a video of her 87-year-old husband talking with California Highway Patrol officers alongside the remains of his burned-out car.

“He’s fine thank God!!” she wrote.

The car fire was reported just after 2 p.m. on the right shoulder of the eastbound 101 Freeway near Parkway Calabasas.

It was not clear what caused the car to catch fire.

Van Dyke refused treatment at the scene.
