LOS ANGLES (KTLA) — There’s a new program in place to assist pet owners in South Los Angeles, who might need a little financial support.

If you are considering turning in your pet to the South L.A. Animal Shelter because of a medical problem, Downtown Dog Rescue will pay for care.

The organization will also help out if your dog has behavioral issues, like barking or jumping over the fence.

The idea is to enable you to keep your pet, and to alleviate overcrowding at the city shelters.

You can find all the details on Downtown Dog Rescue’s website.
