Officers responded about 4 p.m. Tuesday to a “suspicious death” at an apartment in the 10400 block of Plainview Avenue (map), said Lt. J. Byers of the Los Angeles Police Department. When the officers arrived, they made contact with a 911 caller and found a deceased man inside the home.

The victim had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, Byers said.

The man was later described by L.A. County coroner’s officials as being in his 60s.

He had been dead for three days, according to a spokesman for the LAPD’s Foothill Division.

No weapon was recovered at the scene, according to police.

Anyone with information was asked to call the LAPD’s Foothill Division at 818-756-8861.
