Man Detained in El Segundo, Possibly Armed: Police

Police detained a man who was held up inside an El Segundo home and possibly armed Friday morning, according to the El Segundo Police Department.

The department received a call around 3:45 a.m. and responded to the intersection of Center Street and East Grand Avenue in El Segundo, Officer Martinez said.

Martinez originally said police responded to a woman who may have been armed, but the individual turned out to be a man. He was detained around 5:15 a.m., Martinez said.

It was not known what brought police out to the location and it was not immediately known if he was armed.
