6-Year-Old Girl Killed, Father Wounded in Moreno Valley Shooting

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) — Homicide detectives had no leads on Sunday in the shooting death of a 6-year-old girl in Moreno Valley, authorities said.

The victim, identified as Tiana Ricks of Victorville, and her 26-year-old father were hit by gunfire Saturday around 9:45 p.m. while in the garage of a home in the 25000 block of Harker Lane.

Several men walked up to the house and began firing randomly, according to witnesses who were at the residence for a party.

A 6-year-old girl was fatally shot and a 26-year-old man was wounded in Moreno Valley.

The girl was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Her father was taken to a hospital; he was listed in stable condition Sunday.

The case was being investigated as a homicide.

There did not appear to be a motive for the shooting, detectives said.
