One man was killed and two other males were injured after a shooting in the Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles, sheriff’s officials said Sunday.
Deputies from the South L.A. Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a loud party at a home in the 11100 block of Berendo Avenue about 11 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
They arrived at the scene and located three gunshot victims, the release stated.
One man who was shot in the upper torso was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name.
A second man sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
The third victim, also an adult male, refused medical treatment at the scene for his gunshot wound, officials said in the release.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Department had no information about the shooter or shooters, the release stated.
