Two men were stabbed, one fatally, and another was struck with a blunt object Wednesday night after being set upon by a group of males in Carson, authorities said.

The three victims were walking in the area of West 225th and South Main streets, near Carson High School (map), when a champagne-colored SUV — possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban — stopped near them, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

About six males exited the vehicle and assaulted the three men, according to the release. The SUV was last seen traveling northbound on Main Street and out of view.

The victims were later transported to a hospital, sheriff’s officials said. One stabbing victim was pronounced dead; the other was listed in fair condition. The third victim was treated for a head injury and was also listed in fair condition. Their names were not immediately released.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.
