14-year-old Girl Shot in Face, Suspect Sought

girlshotLOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Police are asking for help finding the suspect who shot a 14-year-old girl in the face as she walked with friends.

It happened around 1:20 a.m. on Dec. 9 on Vernon Avenue near Hooper Avenue.

The victim, Jessica Garcia, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 18 and 25 years old with black or dark brown hair.

He is about 5’5″ to 5’7″ tall and weighs about 120 pounds. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
