The United State Geological Survey on Wednesday afternoon reported a 2.9 magnitude earthquake a little more than a half mile west of Sylmar.
The quake occurred at a depth of 0.9 kilometers, according to USGS.
So far, there have been no reports of damage or injury as a result of the quake.
