Two people were found dead inside an RV on Monday afternoon after the vehicle slammed into a fence on an overpass above the Browns Canyon Wash in the Canoga Park area, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The crash occurred about 3:40 p.m. in the 8400 block of De Soto Avenue, where the motor home sheared a fire hydrant before hitting the fence, according to a news alert from the Fire Department.
The incident resulted in an electrical hazard and a diesel fuel spill, prompting a response from LAFD hazmat crews, the statement said.
News video from Sky5 showed a downed light pole at the scene, as water from the hydrant spewed dozens of feet into the air.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
