1 Arrested on 110 Freeway Near Elysian Park After 5 Injured in Collision; Infant, 9-Year-Old Girl in Grave Condition: LAFD

A total of five patients were transported from the scene of a crash Saturday on State Route 110 near Elysian Park, officials said.

Two lanes were closed following the collision, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. just south of Interstate 5, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. A 4-month old infant was reported to be pulseless and not breathing, and a 9-year-old girl was said to be in grave condition.

A 23-year-old male with minor injuries was taken into custody by California Highway Patrol, the fire department said.

Two female patients, a 23-year-old and 48-year-old, were in serious condition, according to LAFD.

It was not clear what caused the collision or how many vehicles were involved.

The closed lanes were reopened at 9:41 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Times.

No further details were immediately available.
