3.9 Preliminary Magnitude Earthquake Hits Near Barstow

A preliminary magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck near Barstow Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was reported at 11:34 a.m. about 14 miles north of Barstow with a depth of two kilometers. A map from USGS of the location of the epicenter shows it’s near a mountainous region south of the Mojave Desert.
