Three people died in a fiery overnight crash in East Los Angeles on Friday.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the area of Herbert Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol.
Footage shared with KTLA showed the car traveling at a high rate of speed through an intersection as the driver loses control. The car then crashes into a tree just out of frame of the camera.
On Friday, a makeshift memorial was set up at the site of the crash on Olympic Boulevard. Friends and loved ones placed flowers and lit candles for the three young adults kid in the fiery crash.
Loved ones told KTLA that 19-year-old Abigail Flores, and her younger brother, Jahmai, were passengers in the vehicle when it crashed. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Julian Menedes-Guia.
The three were trapped in the vehicle after it crashed and burst into flames. Despite the best efforts of a good Samaritan at the scene who tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, the three all perished.
CHP is investigating and said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash. It’s unclear at this time where the three young adults were headed.
Family members said Abigal Flores, who would have turned 20 at the end of the month, had two young children.
