Police were searching for a gunman who shot and wounded three people at a party in Azusa early Sunday, authorities said.

Two officers responded to the 100 block of North Soldano Avenue (map) at 2:20 a.m. after hearing gunfire while they were patrolling the area, according to a news release from the Azusa Police Department.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found that three men between the ages of 18 and 22 had been wounded after they were shot at the party.

The conditions of the three victims were not immediately known, but police said their injuries did not appear life threatening.

After conducting a preliminary investigation, detectives learned that a man approached the crowd at the party and began shooting at them with a handgun, the release stated.

The shooting was not believed to be gang related, police said.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing, and no arrests have been made in the case.

Police were asking anyone with information to contact the Department at 626-812-3200.
