Four people who were setting up a barbecue in front of a South Los Angeles home were struck by gunfire Sunday morning, police said.

Multiple gunmen approached a home near 84th Street and Towne Avenue and opened fire about 9:45 a.m., LAPD Sgt. Scott Blackman said.

The four victims were taken to a hospital in serious condition, police said.

The Florence neighborhood shooting was believed to be related to gang activity in the area, police said.
