NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (KTLA) — Several police agencies were taking part in practice drills at Cal State Northridge on Thursday for an active shooter situation.

Actors were being used to play the parts of suspect and victims in the drills, which were being held every hour from 7 a.m. to noon.

The drills involve the LAPD, the L.A. Unified School District police, the CHP, L.A. County sheriff’s deputies and CSUN police officers.

The exercises are designed to test their coordinated response to the hypothetical scenario of a gunman on campus.
