An Aeroméxico jetliner with 135 people aboard blew two tires during an aborted takeoff at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday morning, officials said. No injuries were immediately reported.

The incident occurred shortly after 6:35 a.m., when Flight 18, bound for Mexico City International Airport, pushed away from a gate at LAX.

The Boeing 737 twin-jet aircraft experienced “mechanical issues” and the pilot aborted the takeoff, said Amanda Parsons, spokeswoman for Los Angeles World Airports.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the runway and helped escort the 129 passengers and six crew members off of the plane.

Crews were working to tow the plane to a hangar for inspection and maintenance, Parsons said.
