Customers attempting to pick up their wedding items from Alfred Angelo Bridal shops Thursday were shocked to find the doors locked and “Store closed” signs on windows nationwide.

"It's devastating. You pay a lot for a wedding dress," Tanya Odom, a bride-to-be customer, told KTLA while saying she got "no advance notice" from the Alfred Angelo Bridal shops. "A phone call would've been nice. An email would've been nice."

Alfred Angelo Bridal is shuttering their doors as part of a planned bankruptcy, KTXL reported.

"Like they literally called me two days ago and said 'Your slip is in, you can pick it up in August when your dress comes.' I thought it was a joke, I can't really believe it," Katie Kortuem, who tried to get into the Rosevill location, told KTXL.

"Luckily mine is 11 months out. I have time to go dress shopping again, but I cannot imagine being someone whose wedding is in a couple months and not having time to go get something else.  I just can't believe it!" Kortuem said.

KTLA went to the Beverly Grove location Friday, where “Store closed” and “Open for pick up only,” signs were posted on the doors.

Customers, however, have not been able to pick up items.

One customer, Kelly Koehler, stated in a Facebook post that she was standing outside the Riverside store Thursday, unable to get the $350 bridesmaid dress she purchased for her sister’s wedding.

Alfred Angelo Bridal owns about 60 stores nationwide, including locations in Brea, Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga, Huntington Beach and West Covina.

The bridal shop company has yet to issue a statement regarding the closures.
