A security guard for an adult store in Anaheim recently used a machete to detain an alleged robber, according to the local police department.

A man entered the Couples Mega Outlet in the 900 block of South Euclid Street (map) around 11:15 p.m. Friday when a physical altercation with a security guard ensued, Anaheim Police Department Lt. Bob Dunn said.

The alleged robber grabbed a glass water pipe and struck the security guard with it. The guard then picked up a machete and hit the man on the head, Dunn said.

The security guard used the machete to detain the man until police arrived.

The alleged robber was treated for moderate injuries. The guard sustained minor injuries.
