The chase began on the 210 Freeway in Monrovia, said Officer Michele Bond of the California Highway Patrol. It made its way east for about 25 miles before the driver exited the interstate, reversed course and then entered the westbound side.

News video showed CHP vehicles following the white four-door pickup as it reached speeds of up to 100 mph in the carpool lane.

The truck later transitioned to the southbound 57 Freeway in the Glendora area before moving onto the 10 Freeway in Pomona. After exiting in Montclair and driving through the parking lot of a strip mall, the driver re-entered the 10 and continued east.

The vehicle got off the interstate at Archibald Avenue, turned onto Airport Drive and pulled over. The two occupants then exited the truck and were taken into custody by Highway Patrol officers, one at a time, without incident.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the pursuit.
