Dramatic video released Friday shows firefighters battling a house fire in Victorville that displaced seven people.
San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday to the 15800 block of La Paz Drive, where they arrived to find a single-story home well-involved in flames, a news release said, adding that another residence was catching fire.
A firefighter’s body camera captured footage of the attack on the fire, which sent plumes of black smoke into the air above the residential neighborhood. The video shows firefighters dousing the blaze with water and using chainsaws to ventilate the structure by cutting holes in the roof.
The residents of the house were outside before emergency responders arrived, according to the Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes, officials said, and a dog that was found in a subsequent search of the home was reunited with its owners.
Three adults and four children were displaced by the incident, the statement said. The Red Cross was contacted to arrange for temporary housing, clothing and to assist with medications.
The blaze resulted in about $150,000 in damages, the Fire Department said. Its cause is under investigation.
