Discovery of Burning Body Near Inglewood 7-Eleven Prompts Homicide Investigation

An investigation was underway in Inglewood Wednesday morning after a body was found on fire, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the area of 94th Street and La Brea Avenue (map) shortly before 6 a.m. and discovered a deceased man engulfed in flames behind a 7-Eleven, according to county fire Supervisor Robert Diaz.

Multiple police vehicles were parked by Bestway Market, which was located down the street from the 7-Eleven, aerial video showed.

A homicide unit was investigating at the scene, according to a watch commander with the Inglewood Police Department.

It was not immediately known how the man died. His name and age have not been released.
