Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a person whose burned body was discovered in a remote area near Lake Los Angeles late Tuesday night, authorities said.

The body was found near the intersection of 210th St. East near Avenue O at around 10:30 p.m., according to Lt. Diez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station.

The location is east of Lake Los Angeles, near the San Bernardino County line, Diez added.

No details about the victim, including a gender or age range, were provided. A cause of death was also not known.

The investigation has been turned over to the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, according to Diez.
