SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) – A 12-year-old boy was struck and killed by a large truck on Saturday night while riding his bicycle in Simi Valley.
Police arrived on the scene at Alamo and Tapo Streets, just before 8 p.m. and were searching for clues as to what caused the crash.
A large truck belonging to the grocery store chain Fresh & Easy could be seen near to the child’s mangled bike.
The truck was believed to be pulling out of a nearby store parking lot when it struck the child, Lt. Stephanie Shannon told KTLA 5.
The young victim was riding his bike with an 8-year-old friend at the time of the crash. The other boy was not injured.
