The man killed after a vehicle crashed into him near a North Hills bus stop was identified Sunday as Lazaro Navarro Ayala by the Los Angeles County coroner official.

The vehicle crashed into the 75-year-old man on Tuesday, killing Ayala and seriously injuring a female.

Police initially said Ayala had been sitting on a bus-stop bench was killed, but witnesses said the man had been walking on the sidewalk when he was hit.

Surveillance footage from a nearby 76 Gas Station did not capture the vehicle hitting Ayala, but did show a red Chevrolet Camaro graze a man before crashing into the bus stop.

The driver of the Camaro was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.

Witnesses were asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department.

KTLA’s Melissa Pamer and Chris Wolfe contributed to this report.
