The Los Angeles County coroner's office is investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found in UCLA student housing, university officials said Wednesday night.

Investigators found the deceased woman around 7 p.m. after responding to a complex in the 11000 block of Weyburn Drive in Westwood, the Los Angeles Times reported.

A cause of death was not immediately known, but it does not appear to be a suicide; foul play was also not immediately suspected, UCLA spokesperson Brian Haaf told KTLA.

The woman was a graduate student at the university, according to the L.A. Times. Her name has not been released, and it was not immediately known what she was studying.

Coroner's officials are investigating the death, Haaf confirmed, adding that more information would likely be released Thursday.

Classes at the university have yet to begin, as the fall quarter is slated to start on Sept. 25, according to UCLA's academic calendar.

KTLA's Matt Phillips contributed to this story.
