A driver of a pickup truck driver was injured after the vehicle flew off the 210 Freeway and into Honda dealership lot Wednesday morning in a spectacular crash caught on another motorist’s dashcam video.
The incident occurred about 7 a.m. on the eastbound freeway west of Sierra Avenue in Fontana, according to Officer Jesus Garcia of the California Highway Patrol’s Inland Division.
The truck veered across lanes to the left and then appeared to overcorrect, coming back to the right and striking a sedan, causing the second vehicle to spin out violently.
The truck then flew up an embankment on the right-hand side of the freeway and was airborne toward the dealership, dash cam video provided by driver Brian Kwong showed.
Kwong told the San Bernardino Sun the crash appeared to be a “road-rage incident.” A Ford Mustang had cut the pickup truck off, resulting in honking, Kwong said.
Then the truck tried to speed by the Mustang and crashed, he said.
The pickup landed on one vehicle at Rock Honda, and debris from the crash damaged 11 other vehicles, Garcia said.
San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters extricated the truck driver, who had major injuries, according to a department tweet.
The driver was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Garcia said.
