Police are searching for a hooded man who robbed a woman on her West Hills front porch in an attack captured on surveillance video Monday night.

The incident in the 7700 block of Woodhall Avenue was reported about 10:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez said.

The 27-year-old victim said she was returning home from a friend’s house and parked just a few steps from her front door on the night of the attack.

She heard footsteps as she was walking to her porch and then saw two people running toward her.

“I didn’t know what was happening,” said the victim, who did not want to be identified.

A video recording of the incident shows one of the robbers brandishing what appears to be a gun and then violently taking a bag from the woman.

The victim said the robber told her not to end her life over a purse and then ran to a getaway car in the street.

The man seen in the video was wearing a hooded Champion sweatshirt.

The victim believes three people were involved in the robbery, including the two she saw running toward her and the getaway driver.

She was unsure if she had been followed home or if the robbery was a random act.

“It’s gonna always be on my mind … that it could literally happen at any time or anywhere,” she said.

Police are investigating the incident.
