A driver who had three children inside his vehicle when he allegedly stopped in the middle of the 134 Freeway and attacked another motorist was charged Tuesday, four months after the altercation was captured on cellphone video.

The incident occurred Feb. 6 on the freeway near State Route 2 in Glendale. Video of the incident was posted to YouTube, prompting a California Highway Patrol investigation.

Dikran Gligoriu, 35, was charged with one felony count each of child abuse; assault with a deadly weapon, a car; and one misdemeanor count each of battery and reckless driving on a highway.

He entered a not guilty plea Tuesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

He was identified several days after after the nearly 3-minute cellphone video was posted online, showing his license plate. CHP said he was a Temple City resident.

In the video, the driver of a black Infiniti swerves erratically, apparently in an altercation with a nearby silver Volkswagen Jetta. The Infiniti comes to a halt in the No. 1 lane, in front of the Jetta.

That action prompted vehicles behind to slam on their brakes, according to prosecutors.

The video shows the Infiniti driver — allegedly Gligoriu — getting out of his car and moving toward the Jetta, appearing to attempt to attack the Volkswagen driver.

CHP and the DA’s office said Gligoriu had three children inside his vehicle.

Gligoriu’s bail was set at $100,000.

He faces a maximum sentence of more than seven years in state prison if convicted as charged.
