Car Crashes Into Tustin Home, Leaving Driver Dead and Young Passenger Injured

Local News

A vehicle plowed into a Tustin home early Saturday, leaving the driver dead and his young passenger injured, officials said.

The Tustin Police Department said it began receiving 911 calls about a crash in the 13000 block of Iroquois, near Browning Avenue and El Camino Real, just after 2:24 a.m.

Officers arrived to find a Toyota Camry that had slammed through a cinder-block fence and through the wall of the dining room of a two-story home, video from the site shows.

Paramedics soon responded and pronounced the adult male driver dead at the scene, according to police. His passenger, a girl, was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Resident Tito Perez said his daughter had friends over for a sleepover at the time, but that nobody inside was hurt. Their home has been red-tagged.

According to police, the driver was apparently speeding east on San Juan Street when he crashed through the fence on Browning Avenue.

“Investigators are looking into the possibility of alcohol and drugs being a factor in the collision,” a statement from the Police Department said.

Authorities have not released the names and ages of the driver and passenger involved.
