Driver Sought in Northridge Hit-and-Run Crash That Injured 2

Authorities are searching for a driver that fled the scene of a collision that left two people hospitalized in Northridge. The hit-and-run happened early Sunday morning when a dark-colored Mercedes ran a red light and slammed into a red Honda Civic at the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Nordhoff Street, according to a Detective Martha Garcia from the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division. The violent crash which injured the driver and passenger of the Honda was captured by a nearby surveillance camera. Witnesses told detectives several people bolted from the Mercedes and fled the scene. Investigators are still working to find the driver, and anyone else who may have been in the Mercedes when it crashed into the Honda. The man driving the Honda was still in critical condition as of Monday afternoon, but expected to survive. His female passenger was also injured, but is going to be OK, police officials said.
