CALIFORNIA (KTLA) — People living in the Golden State are having fewer births.

According to state public health records, the number of babies born in California each year has been dropping steadily since 2007.

Records also show that before 2007, there were years of statewide decrease in births.

Analysts believe there are several factors driving down the numbers, including the uncertain finances of young couples, which may lead them to delay having children.
