Firing of Paintball Ammunition Leads to Arrest of 4 Boys on Suspicion of Assault With a Deadly Weapon

Four boys were arrested in Fontana after allegedly firing paintball ammunition into a crowd at a children’s soccer practice, police said Tuesday.

The incident was reported about 8:15 p.m. Monday at Koehler Park, at 15352 Walnut Street.

Multiple people were struck by the paintball ammunition, and a 9-year-old girl who was struck in face received minor injuries, according to a news release from the Fontana Police Department.

The juveniles, who were in a Cadillac Escalade, also shot at houses, vehicles and public signs, police said.

The boys, who were not identified, were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
