Grenades Discovered in Back Yard of South L.A. Home

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Police evacuated more than a dozen homes Sunday after two grenades were found in the back yard of a house on 70th Street.

A family living in the house was planning a Super Bowl party when they discovered the explosives in a fire pit.

The bomb squad was called in to safely detonate the grenades.

No word of any injuries.
