Police released surveillance video Friday of a violent, and ultimately deadly attack on a tourist during a street robbery in San Francisco last month.
A man visiting from the United Kingdom was walking with a woman along Post Street around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 when they were approached by two thieves, according to a post on the San Francisco Police Department’s Facebook page.
During the course of the robbery, the male victim was chased down, stabbed and left lying in the street, the video showed.
His female companion was not injured.
The two robbers ran off after stealing a bag containing the man’s cellphone, passport and cash, police said.
On Thursday, the 44-year-old victim died of his injuries, the post stated.
The assailants were described as a black man, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.
His accomplice was described as a black woman, standing around 5 foot 4 inches tall with long dreadlocks or braids worn up in a ponytail.
