On the first edition of Your Very Own Story, KTLA highlights Cara “Calabama” Haltiwanger, the Alabama native and current Hollywood resident who invented a creative way to sell sandwiches during the pandemic that quickly went viral.

After three years, Chef Cara “Calabama” Haltiwanger is ending her viral breakfast sandwich bucket drop pop-up. Since the early days of the pandemic, she’s made about 80 sandwiches every Sunday from her apartment, and served them via a bucket and pulley system to hungry fans below. Due to issues with her apartment building, she’s decided to focus on making her signature hot sauce and possibly serving sandwiches at pop-ups in the future. Her last drop will be this Sunday, March 26.

KTLA’s Andy Riesmeyer reports in this the first of our series called Your Very Own Story.
