Homicide detectives were investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Compton Tuesday, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at 11:40 a.m. near Atlantic Avenue and Sportsman Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to an area of Atlantic below the 710 Freeway and found the victim in the road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspect description has been released and no weapon has been found as authorities continue to investigate. Sheriff’s officials said it’s unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
