Huntington Beach police discovered three human skulls while searching a Palmdale residence for people who recently took part in armed robberies in the Orange County community, police said Wednesday.

Detectives believed the people responsible for multiple related armed robberies in O.C. lived at a Palmdale home in the 2500 block of East Avenue Q-A, Huntington Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Marlat said.

After search warrants were issued, police went through the Palmdale home and found the three skulls on Tuesday.

The possible robbers were not located.

Huntington Beach police notified the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department of the skulls, and an investigation and forensic analysis by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner was expected to determine if foul play was involved.

Anyone with information was asked contact the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
