Los Angeles Police officials are searching for a person who allegedly shot at a courier at a check cashing business Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported about 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Western Avenue and Washington Boulevard in the Harvard Heights area, said Officer Sal Ramirez.

The gunman shot at the courier, but missed, hitting the van instead.

The person ran away from the scene and has not been found, Ramirez said.
