Two Santa Monica nonprofits are collaborating on a theater production that highlights the talent of blind actors and autistic musicians.

Theatre by the Blind and Rex & Friends are presenting “A Reason to Love,” an original play that seeks to portray everyday life through the eyes of artists with a unique perception of the world.

Eighteen performers are involved in the show, which features eight musical numbers.

Opening performances of the play were sold-out, but tickets are still available for Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 at the Magicopolis theater in Santa Monica.
