Los Angeles Authorities Arrest More Than 200 People on Suspicion of Internet Crimes Against Children

Authorities have arrested about 240 people in the Los Angeles area in connection with Internet crimes against children, officials said Monday.

Task forces called “Operation Broken Heart III” were created nationwide to address the issue in April and May.

The local task force consisted of the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles County sheriff’s and district attorney’s offices and Homeland Security Investigations.

Officials are expected to discuss the investigations and arrests during a news conference in Los Angeles on Monday.
