Man, 21, Fatally Shot on Van Nuys Sidewalk; 2 Sought

Homicide detectives were searching for two people on Wednesday after a man was found shot to death on a sidewalk in Van Nuys the previous night, according to LAPD.

Officers found the 21-year-old victim around 10 p.m. Tuesday when they responded to a shooting call in the 14500 block of Saticoy Street (map), a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department stated.

He was found on the sidewalk and had been shot at least once, LAPD officials said in the release.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the release. He was identified by police as Juan Santos.

Two people were seen fleeing the location, but no descriptions were available. A motive for the deadly shooting remained under investigation.
