A gunman was being sought Sunday after shooting and killing a 23-year-old man during an argument at a Halloween party held inside a gated community in Pico Rivera, according to sheriff's deputies.
A shooting broke out in the 9600 block of Par Place shortly after midnight, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release.
A 23-year-old man was found dead at the scene, and investigators determined he and another person had attended a party when an argument began.
The gunman then produced a firearm and shot the victim several times, sheriff’s deputies said.
Local residents told KTLA they heard at least four gunshots.
The investigation continued Sunday and a description of the gunman was not provided.
