A 21-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a teen girl during a botched robbery in Del Rey was charged Wednesday with murder.
Cameron Anthony Frazier was suspected of killing Kristine Carman, 17, in a shooting in the parking lot of the Villa Marina Marketplace shopping center near Marina del Rey on Jan. 6.
Frazier, of Los Angeles, was charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted robbery in the second degree, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. The complaint alleges he fired a handgun and killed the victim during a robbery.
He was due to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon at Airport Courthouse.
Los Angeles police announced his arrest Tuesday, saying he was arrested by the FBI at his home in Vista, in San Diego County.
Jail records indicate his surname is Fraizer, the spelling initially provided by the DA’s office, which later issued a corrected press release with the spelling Frazier.
Carman was killed when she sat in a vehicle with two others in a parking lot outside Jerry’s Deli in the Del Rey shopping center. Her family members said she was visiting from Houston.
Fraizer was being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown L.A.
If convicted, he faces life in prison without parole, or the death penalty, if prosecutors decide to seek it.
