Man Fatally Shot in Thousand Oaks; 2 Suspects Arrested

Two men were arrested on Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in Thousand Oaks late Thursday, authorities said.

Caden Crowell, 19, and Hector Delgado, 20, were booked in Ventura on one count of murder and one count of street terrorism, according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

The victim has been identified as David Smith, a Thousand Oaks resident.

The incident was reported about 11:25 p.m. near the intersection of Avenida del Platino and Calle Zafiro.

Investigators tracked down Crowell and Delgado hours after the shooting and discovered evidence related to the crime, including a handgun, according to police.

Authorities said they believe the shooting is gang related.

Responding deputies found Smith suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
